Northumberland Retreat 2019

Mum and I ventured up to Northumberland to Claire’s Wellness Retreat, much to our delight it was in the green rolling hills in the Northumberland countryside and being hosted in a very well appointed collection of cottages, and all rooms benefitted from en suites. There was a dedicated yoga studio; together with wood burning fire – we enjoyed Vinyasa flow yoga in the mornings and gentle yoga and Yin Yoga in the evenings with the wood burning fire on, a first for us! During our break; it was fully catered; hot brunch after yoga (loved the butternut squash and feta combo as well as the hot Turkish eggs and beans) – all diets were catered for with lovely tasty home cooked food on the premises. Claire as a teacher is very special; she has a REAL passion for yoga and she was very inclusive whatever your level … would recommend to anyone.

This was my first ever retreat, and I honestly can’t wait for my next. The location and house were incredible. Feeling secluded from the outside world, with breath taking views across Northumberland. The house itself had lots of open space for the yoga, a large kitchen dining space as well as different cubbyholes to take yourself away with your book, if you so wished. Yoga classes were led by Claire, who is an amazing teacher and allows each session to be as much, or as little as you want. We had plenty time, outside of the designated classes, to complete your own practice and ask Claire for extra hints and tips! The food was delicious with brunch and dinner cooked by a registered dietitian and ample snacks available throughout the day. I came away feeling both relaxed and energised. Thank you so much to Wellness Space for an amazing weekend.
