Claire lormor - Founder of Wellness SpacE

As a Pharmacology & Physiology graduate, trained EFL Teacher and professional ski bum, making the transition to a full-time Yoga Teacher wasn't the obvious choice. However, it was after discovering yoga while living in Vietnam, Claire knew that it was something she wanted to do for the rest of her life.

In May 2018 Claire completed her 200hr Yoga Teacher Training in Canada, specialising in Vinyasa Yoga. She created WELLNESS SPACE when she returned back to England with the hope of spreading her passion for yoga around the North East. As much as Claire believes yoga is an integral part of wellness, she wanted to create a space for all things that have a positive effect on our wellbeing - health, fitness, nutrition, meditation, community, travel and, last but definitely not least, yoga - in an area that is so close to her heart.

Claire continues to learn and develop her yoga practice on a daily basis. And when she is not doing yoga, you’ll find her keeping active, sitting in a coffee shop or planning her next trip away.

shelley noble - yoga teacher

Shelley’s goal in life is to spread her love for yoga, be a great mother and to be happy. Her classes encourage people to develop a stronger mind-body connection as well as grow in strength and flexibility. Her classes flow through poses seamlessly, using the breath to let go of the worries and stressors that life may bring us. Her light-hearted manner makes you feel comfortable as she stands by the idea that yoga doesn't have to be perfect - you can simply move your body at your own pace, and you’ll still leave feeling worked, energised and peaceful inside.

Rachel Garnham 1.jpg

Rachel received her BA Hons degree in Contemporary dance from Trinity Laban Conservatoire before running away to India to pursue her developing yoga practice. In 2013, Rachel received her 200 hour Yoga teacher training and later in 2015, her 500 hour Advanced Yoga Teacher training from the Himalayan Yoga Institute. Then in 2016, Rachel added Pilates level 3 qualification to her repertoire and became Lead Instructor at 2 barre studios for Barrecore in London. In early 2018, Rachel was certified in pregnancy, post-natal, baby yoga and massage, which was advantageous as she had already fallen pregnant! After 8 years spent in London studying and working as a fitness professional, Rachel returned to the Northeast to become a very lucky Mama to her beautiful daughter, Luna in June 2018.

Rachel loves helping people to feel happier and healthier in their mind, body and soul. Since becoming a parent she is particularly interested in holding space for women on their journey into motherhood. Rachel's practice is very much a fusion of her fluid dance and formal yoga training, encouraging students to dance through their practice and feel the deliciousness of being in one's body whilst liberating the spirit from the mundane of the mind.

We are all expressions of supreme consciousness and Rachel helps us to honour the God/Goddess within each of us.

Shalini completed her 200 hr Yoga Teacher Training in June 2017 in Spain.

While working in a stressful corporate job, Shalini stumbled upon yoga. Needing to unwind, breathe, and figure out what she really wanted for herself. Shalini took her first yoga class at a gym with a mixture of skepticism and excitement. Since that day, she has not stopped and continues to enhance her practice.

Shalini’s desire as a teacher is to create an environment that allows you to find a connection with the breath, body, mind and spirit.

When she is not doing yoga, you will find her spending time with her family, exploring food places and playing golf.

Emerly began practicing yoga four years ago as a way to deal with extreme anxiety and panic disorder. She found that not only did it relax her body and mind, but it was a catalyst for phenomenal change in her life.

Striking a balance between the yin and the yang of yoga, Emerly practices both the high energy vinyasa flows as well as the slower and  more restorative forms of yoga.

Emerly completed her yoga teacher training so that she could help others make the same positive changes in their own lives. Supporting and inspiring students to connect to their body, mind and spirit by empowering them to foster their own self-love and acceptance, she takes themes and inspiration from traditional yoga philosophy, encouraging students to take yoga off the mat and into their daily lives.
